Before the song, practice putting on your seatbelts, and turning the ignition.  "Drive" your car while you sing.
Look at my bright shiny car
I'm driving it today.
C - A - R (BEEP! BEEP!)
C - A - R (BEEP! BEEP!)
C - A - R (BEEP! BEEP!)
I'm driving it today!

Wheels on the Bus (of course)

Craft:

Tire Track Painting
Put out a bunch of toy cars and stamp pads.  Let the kids roll the cars over the stamp pads and "drive" them over the paper.  When they are done put out buckets of soapy water and little sponges and let the kids have a "car wash".  My kids liked the soapy water better than the craft.  The second time I did this craft I put leftover tops of deli trays (see left) under the bins of soapy water.  Easy craft and very fun.

Songs:

(Sung to: Skip to My Lou)

(C) Owl in the tree says "Who, who, who."
(G) Owl in the tree says "Who, who, who."
(C) Owl in the tree says "Who, who, who."
(G) "Who, who, who (C) are you?"

Point to a child and ask their name.  I had more success asking for volunteers first so I didn't put the shy ones on the spot.  And, when the shy ones did volunteer they had time to compose themselves.  I also let them hold a stuffed owl after they said their name, and pass it on to the next child.  From www.preschooleducation.com, ukulele/guitar chords are mine.

Owl Hokey Pokey

You put your right wing in.
You put your right wing out.
You put your right wing in.
And you flap it all about.
You do the owl hokey pokey and you fly yourself around.
That's what it's all about.  Hoo, hoo!

Verses:
Left wing
Right claw
Left claw
Beak
Whole, feathered self
